It finally got warm in Cleveland the past few weeks so I put out some romaine lettuce, basil, cherry tomatoes, and rosemary! It’s in the 40’s now so I’m just hoping it lasts.-
GWEN! This is awesome π would you like some rootpouch bags to grow these in? I can bring them next time I visit home (soon).

We’re propagating herbs and planting potatoes at the Franciscan Monastery this Saturday afternoon. Potato planting starts around noon; herb propagation around 1 pm. Both activities are led by lifelong gardeners. Hope you can join us.

And I have been working to “develop minds” for a long time. I now want to focus on developing the land as a means to change the course of people’s lives. I figured, I first learn…[Read more]

Does anyone have seeds/roots/cuttings for any of the following: mullein, yarrow, fish peppers, comfrey? Can trade other seeds / starts for them. Thanks!
-
Jennifer Lumpkin replied 4 years, 1 month ago
Hey @jlwirth I know where you can get some mullein and maybe some comfrey (might be too cold). My friends at the Monastery have mullein for daaaays! How soon do you need it?
-
Jon Wirth replied 4 years, 1 month ago
Awesome! Any time really. I use the mullein as a host plant for dicyphus bugs and keep them in as many gardens as I can.

Jennifer Lumpkin replied 4 years, 1 month ago

Peace Jon — I’ve been getting a lot of folks inquiring about the site and I’m debating on whether or not to shut it down. Just hitting you up to get a sense of whether or not you think it would or could be useful in any way. Thanks — Peace!

FYI…Even in the untilled garden, forest, and field, you might actually say that the soil gets βtilledβ to some extent. The workers here are soil-dwelling creatures, especially earthworms. Charles Darwin, whose last book was The Formation of Vegetable Mould through the Action of Worms, with Observations on their Habits, determined that ear…[Read more]

Thanks @katierehwaldt! Can I swap some of these for a few watering days at Blair Community Garden? I think @jessicawynter would love some too!
Hey there, that sounds like a plan! I am going to drop some off for another Blair Road gardener Friday. I can bring yours too. What plot are you in?
Literally right above your plot, closest to the sidewalk with all the collards planted. I will let my plot partner know so he can meet you. His name is Lawrence and I think you two met a few weeks ago!
